A six-hour view of the California Nebula. This frame extends beyond the western edge of the wide root.
A wide view of Auriga
The root connects the Auriga nebula complex to open clusters and neighboring fields in Perseus, Taurus, and the Orion–Gemini boundary. The 14-hour 45-minute mosaic forms the main branch, with closer views of Flaming Star, Tadpoles, M36, and M38 drawn from that same result.
Fossil Footprint, Northern Trifid, Crab, and Monkey Head branch directly from the wide field. All selected frames are registered using their plate solutions. The California Nebula is included as a partial-overlap branch: its frame extends beyond the root edge.
